Mud Portal — Last updated: July 18, 2026
Mud Portal ("the App") is a MUD (Multi-User Dungeon) client for iOS developed by All Beranek Group, LLC. Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your choices.
The App stores your server profiles, triggers, aliases, scripts, and preferences locally on your device using SwiftData and UserDefaults. By default this data stays on your device. If you enable the optional iCloud Sync feature (off by default, available with Mud Portal Pro), your server profiles, triggers, aliases, scripts, and map data are stored in your private iCloud (CloudKit) database, managed by Apple and accessible only to your Apple Account. The developer has no access to this data and operates no servers of its own.
The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information such as your name, email address, location, or device identifiers.
Mud Portal connects to MUD servers specified by you (the user) using the Telnet protocol. The App acts as a client — it sends commands you type and displays text received from the server. The App does not intercept, log, or transmit your connection data to any third party.
Session logs, when enabled by you, are stored locally on your device and are not uploaded or shared.
The App does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. No data is shared with third parties.
The App uses Apple's StoreKit framework for optional purchases (Mud Portal Pro subscription or lifetime unlock, and tip jar tips). These transactions are processed entirely by Apple and are subject to Apple's privacy policy.
All data — including server profiles, automation configurations (triggers, aliases, scripts), session logs, and preferences — is stored locally on your device. If you delete the App, all associated data is removed.
Unless you enable iCloud Sync, the App uses no cloud syncing, external databases, or remote storage. With iCloud Sync enabled, data is stored in your private iCloud database subject to Apple's iCloud terms and privacy policy; you can disable sync at any time and all data is retained locally on your device.
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. Because the App does not collect any personal information from any user, it is suitable for all ages. However, MUD servers connected through the App may contain user-generated content not controlled by the developer.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
