Overview

FirstGig ("the App") is an iOS app for young entrepreneurs running service-based side businesses (lawn care, snow removal, dog walking, car washing, and similar). It is developed by All Beranek Group, LLC. Your privacy is important to us, and especially important to the young people we built this app for. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your choices.

The short version: Everything you enter into FirstGig — your business details, your clients, your jobs, your earnings, your expenses — stays on your device. We do not have a server that receives or stores your data. We do not track you, sell your data, or share it with advertisers.

Who FirstGig Is For

FirstGig is designed for young entrepreneurs, including users under the age of 13. Because the App stores all data locally and does not transmit user information to All Beranek Group, LLC, no personal data is collected by the developer. The Parent Link feature (described below) is provided so that a parent or guardian can be involved in their child's use of the App.

We recommend that parents review this policy together with their child, and that any user under 13 use the App with parental knowledge and supervision.

Information the App Stores Locally

The App stores the following on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework:

Business information you enter (business name, service types, invite code)
Client information you enter (customer names, addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, notes, payment preferences)
Job records you create (dates, amounts, status, photos, weather, duration)
Financial records (invoices, payments, expenses, including optional receipt photos)
Crew member names and roles (when you invite others to your business)
Parent Link records (when a parent or guardian links to your account)
Settings and preferences

This data lives only on your device. If you delete the App, all of this data is removed with it.

Information We Do Not Collect

The App does not collect, store on our servers, or transmit to us:

Your name, email address, phone number, or contact details
Your location (the App uses on-device location only for optional features like route planning and weather, never transmitted to us)
Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or analytics data
Behavioral or usage analytics

iCloud Sync

If you have iCloud enabled on your device, Apple may sync your FirstGig data between your own Apple devices using iCloud. This sync is handled entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. All Beranek Group, LLC does not have access to this synced data.

Customer Contact Information

FirstGig lets you import contacts from your device's Contacts app to add as clients. When you do this, the contact information you choose stays on your device within FirstGig. We do not receive or transmit any of these contacts.

You are responsible for handling your customers' contact details responsibly. We recommend asking your customers' permission before storing their information.

Photos and Camera

The App can attach photos to jobs and expenses (for example, before/after photos of work, or photos of receipts). These photos are stored locally in the App's data and on your device. They are not uploaded to any server by the App.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, the App sends local reminders about upcoming jobs. These notifications are generated on your device by the App and are not sent through any remote service we control.

Parent Link Feature

FirstGig includes a Parent Link feature that allows a parent or guardian to view their child's business activity (schedule, earnings, job history) and send encouragement nudges. To use Parent Link:

The young entrepreneur generates an invite code in the App and shares it with their parent.
The parent enters the code on their own device to establish the link.
The link is stored locally on each device. Information flows between linked devices using Apple's iCloud framework, when enabled.
The young entrepreneur can revoke the Parent Link at any time, and the parent can disconnect at any time.

All Beranek Group, LLC does not see, store, or transmit any data exchanged through Parent Link.

Subscriptions and Purchases

FirstGig is free to use with limited features. Optional Pro features can be unlocked via an in-app subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. These purchases are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit and are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We receive only anonymous purchase records from Apple necessary to confirm your subscription status — we do not receive your name, email, or payment details.

Family Sharing is enabled for both products. If your purchase is shared with family members through Apple's Family Sharing feature, that sharing is managed entirely by Apple.

Third-Party Services

FirstGig does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or marketing services. We do not integrate with any social media platforms. We do not have a server that receives data from the App.

The App uses Apple frameworks (SwiftData, StoreKit, WeatherKit, MapKit, Contacts) as part of normal iOS operation. These are governed by Apple's policies.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, share, or trade any data with third parties — because we don't collect any in the first place.

Children's Privacy (COPPA & GDPR-K)

We have designed FirstGig with the understanding that many users will be under 13 years of age. Consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws:

The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information about users to All Beranek Group, LLC.
All data entered into the App stays on the user's own device (and on iCloud if the user enables it, under Apple's privacy policy).
The Parent Link feature is provided so parents and guardians can be involved in their child's use of the App, including viewing schedule, earnings, and job activity.

Your Choices

Delete your data: You can delete individual records (clients, jobs, invoices, expenses) inside the App at any time. Deleting the App from your device removes all FirstGig data from that device.
Export your data: Pro users can export their business data to CSV files for their own records.
Disconnect Parent Link: Either party can disconnect a Parent Link at any time from within the App.
Manage iCloud sync: You control iCloud sync through your device's Settings > Apple ID > iCloud.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
