FirstGig ("the App") is an iOS app for young entrepreneurs running service-based side businesses (lawn care, snow removal, dog walking, car washing, and similar). It is developed by All Beranek Group, LLC. Your privacy is important to us, and especially important to the young people we built this app for. This policy explains what information the App collects, how it is used, and your choices.
FirstGig is designed for young entrepreneurs, including users under the age of 13. Because the App stores all data locally and does not transmit user information to All Beranek Group, LLC, no personal data is collected by the developer.
We recommend that parents review this policy together with their child, and that any user under 13 use the App with parental knowledge and supervision.
The App stores the following on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework:
This data lives only on your device. If you delete the App, all of this data is removed with it.
The App does not collect, store on our servers, or transmit to us:
Pro users can import their customer list from their own Google Sheet. When you paste your sheet's share link into the App, the App fetches that sheet's contents directly from Google's servers to your device. This is the only network request the App makes, it only happens when you ask for an import or refresh, and All Beranek Group, LLC's servers are never involved — we never see your sheet, its link, or its contents.
Your Google Sheet remains under your control in your own Google account, governed by Google's Privacy Policy. You are responsible for your sheet's sharing settings; the App only requires "Anyone with the link can view," and you can turn that off in Google Sheets at any time.
FirstGig lets you import contacts from your device's Contacts app to add as customers. When you do this, the contact information you choose stays on your device within FirstGig. We do not receive or transmit any of these contacts.
You are responsible for handling your customers' contact details responsibly. We recommend asking your customers' permission before storing their information.
The App can attach before/after photos to jobs (for example, to show a finished lawn). These photos are stored locally in the App's data on your device. They are not uploaded to any server by the App.
If you enable calendar sync, the App creates a "FirstGig" calendar on your device (with your permission) and writes your scheduled jobs to it so they appear alongside your other events. This happens entirely on your device through Apple's EventKit framework. Turning the feature off removes the events the App created. Nothing from your calendar is read, collected, or transmitted to us.
If you allow notifications, the App sends local reminders about upcoming jobs. These notifications are generated on your device by the App and are not sent through any remote service we control.
Like any iOS app, FirstGig's local data may be included in your device's standard encrypted iCloud or computer backup if you have backups enabled. Backups are managed entirely by Apple under Apple's privacy policy; the App does not sync data between devices, and All Beranek Group, LLC has no access to your backups.
FirstGig is free to use with limited features. Optional Pro features can be unlocked with an auto-renewing monthly or annual subscription. These purchases are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit and are subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We receive only anonymous purchase records from Apple necessary to confirm your subscription status — we do not receive your name, email, or payment details.
If Family Sharing is enabled for the subscription, sharing with family members is managed entirely by Apple.
FirstGig does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or marketing services. We do not integrate with any social media platforms. We do not have a server that receives data from the App.
The App uses Apple frameworks (SwiftData, StoreKit, MapKit, EventKit, Contacts) as part of normal iOS operation, governed by Apple's policies. The optional Google Sheet import described above communicates only with Google, at your request.
We do not sell, rent, share, or trade any data with third parties — because we don't collect any in the first place.
We have designed FirstGig with the understanding that many users will be under 13 years of age. Consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws:
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
